Menu display from Isaac's restaurant featuring various dishes and beverages

Our Story

Isaac's was founded in 1983 by Phil Wenger and Isaac Williams, yes, there really was an Isaac. The first restaurant opened in a former doughnut shop at 44 N. Queen Street in Downtown Lancaster's Central Market Mall.

From the start, Isaac's stood out with our Original Flock of sandwiches, with bird names for meat sandwiches and flower names for vegetarian favorites, all brought to life by our iconic Flamingo mascot. Isaac's quickly became a go-to lunch spot for downtown professionals and a favorite evening destination for families and local college students.

Over the years, a few things have changed. Isaac himself flew the coop just two months after the original location opened. We introduced pretzel roll sandwiches in 1994, added French fries and appetizers in 2018, and began brewing our own beer in 2020.

But the things that matter most have remained the same.

We still slice our meats and cheeses fresh, make our soups from scratch, and fire-grill our sandwiches in specially designed ovens every day, just as we did on day one.

Our commitment to caring for our team members, our guests, and the communities we serve has never changed.

It's who we are, and it will continue to guide us into the future.
