Our Story
Since opening our doors in 1983, Isaac's has been serving handcrafted food with a personality all its own.
Founded by Phil Wenger in a former doughnut shop in downtown Lancaster, Isaac's quickly became known for something different: original grilled sandwiches with memorable names. Meat sandwiches were named after birds, while vegetarian favorites were inspired by flowers. Before long, Isaac's had become a favorite lunch destination for downtown professionals and a gathering place for families, friends, and college students throughout Central Pennsylvania.
As we've grown, we've continued to evolve. We introduced our signature pretzel roll sandwiches in 1994, expanded the menu with appetizers and French fries in 2018, and began brewing our own craft beer in 2020.
While our menu has grown, our values have remained the same.
We're committed to creating a great place to work by investing in our team, offering industry-leading benefits, and fostering a culture where people can thrive. We're passionate about serving high-quality food with genuine hospitality, and we're proud to support the communities that have supported us for more than four decades.
That's who we are. And it's the foundation that will continue to guide Isaac's for years to come.
